There’s nothing vulgar about Namaste Madam
The Srinagara Kitty-Ragini Dwivedi-Nikesha Patel film Namaste Madam seems like an adult comedy, going by the stills and posters. But lead actor Kitty assures that there’s more to it than meets the eye. “This is an out-and-out comedy flick that families can watch. In fact, the character I play in the film is that of a clerk, who is married and has a daughter.

While he has responsibilities towards his family, he gets caught in an awkward situation with his boss. This leads to a lot of funny scenes in which his ‘madam’ tortures him, which in turn, leads his wife to suspect him of infidelity. How he manages these situations is what makes for the hilarious script,” says Kitty.
Quiz him about the sensuous songs in the film featuring him and Ragini and he says, “Yes, there is a bit of sensuality, but it doesn’t make anyone cringe. These scenes are required in the screenplay, which is why we shot them. But they are not vulgar. We do remember that there’s a Censor Board, which will anyway chop anything objectionable. And, hence, we do a bit of censoring ourselves while shooting.” While the film is a remake of the decade-old Telugu comedy Missamma, Kitty says that the Kannada version has been tweaked to suit today’s Sandalwood audience.
