This Day, That Year: Nikhil Kumaraswamy's debut film 'Jaguar' turns 5

It was exactly five years ago that actor/politician

Nikhil Kumaraswamy

made his acting debut. The film was '

Jaguar

', a bonafide action entertainer that served as the perfect launchpad for the young and spunky Nikhil who became the first member of the reputed political clan to take up acting (by virtue of the film's release).

'Jaguar' was directed by Mahadev while the script was penned by the revered story and screenwriter

(of 'Baahubali' and 'Bhajarangi Bhaijaan' fame). Deepti Sati, who played the female lead, too made her Kannada debut with 'Jaguar' and Tamannaah Bhatia featured in a special item number in the film. The music was composed by S. Thaman while Anitha Kumaraswamy, Nikhil's mother, produced the project which was released as a Kannada-Telugu bilingual.


The lead-up to the film's release back in 2016 brimmed with tremendous fanfare as many keenly looked forward to watching Nikhil Kumaraswamy on the big screen. Right from Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan attending the audio launch function to the worldwide release of the film, Nikhil Kumaraswamy began his acting journey with a bang. And now, five years down the line, Nikhil has managed to nurture his passion for acting despite having to juggle between films and politics.
