In 2019, May 12 was designated as “Vijay Prakash Day” in the state of North Carolina, USA. This honour was bestowed upon the Indian playback singer by Mayor William C Dusch of Charlotte after his concert in Charlotte during his tour of the United Kingdom and the United States.
