Villains rape, heroes romance: Rangayana Raghu
Comedian Rangayana Raghu, who will be turning hero in the upcoming film Chaddi Dosth, doesn’t think that playing a lead role is different from any of the other roles he has portrayed so far. “The hero is a character; every role in a film is that of a character, so even as a hero, I’m just playing a character,” says Raghu.
Having played a character artist in most of his films, there were some new elements Raghu experienced as a hero.

“A hero is young and does only good. However, a character artist is often given roles in which you are older than your own age and they don’t necessarily have to be good,” he says adding, “There’s also some dancing involved and, of course, elements of romance.”
Was Raghu awkward or shy about doing romantic scenes as a hero? “Not really. I just feel that as a villain, one does rape scenes, and as a hero, there are romantic scenes. That’s the only difference,” says the actor. About the film he says, “Chaddi Dosth deals with friendship in a very different manner. It’s about two friends who consider each other’s troubles their own and solve it for one another.”
