If there’s one actor Yogaraj Bhat has always been particular to feature in his films, it’s Ananth Nag. Considering Ananth to be one of
Sandalwood’s most handsome and smart actors, Yogaraj says it was imperative to have him on board for his upcoming film, Vaastu Prakaara. “Ananth Nag is a brilliant actor; it’s always a delight to work with him. When compared to others, his acting is on a completely different scale.
So, I had to feature him in the movie,” says Yogaraj.
Ananth, who is paired opposite Sudha Rani in the movie, plays an NRI. “Actually, Yogaraj had first asked me to play an impulsive and dominant husband, and Sudha to play a docile wife. However, seconds before the shoot, he suggested that we switch characters. I requested him to give me half an hour’s time to adjust to this and that’s how my character turned to be a calm-headed flower merchant,” says the actor.
Talking about his pairing with Sudha, Ananth says, “There’s hardly any chemistry between us because we play a couple who are on the verge of divorce. While most filmmakers etch their story around actors and characters, Yogaraj is among the few who first write a thorough story and then fill it with suitable actors. So, it was a very different and refreshing experience.”
