So what if you are a big name in the film industry yourself? When you meet your childhood hero, you forget all else and the fan in you is what comes to the fore. It was no different with namma
Gurukiran, who met his teenage icon
Kumar Gaurav over the weekend in Goa. “We have common friends and when he told me that Kumar Gaurav would also be at this party we were set to attend, my joy knew no bounds,” shares an elated Guru.
“In fact, I started my career by singing his songs. The very first number I sang was Yeh Zamin Gaa Rahi Hai, which was a rage then. I told him I treated him like god the minute I met him,” adds the acclaimed music director. “We chatted for a long time and I asked him for an autograph, which is something I haven’t done till now,” he adds. The highlight? “When I gave Kumar Gaurav my autograph at the end of our meeting,” smiles Guru.
