When Sudeep stepped out of his comfort zone for Pailwaan

Filmmaker Krishna and Sandalwood superstar Sudeep’s second outing, Pailwaan, is readying up for release shortly. The team unveiled the poster of Sudeep as a boxer for the film, which had created much anticipation among fans.
This particular look demanded a lot of dedication from Sudeep reveals Krishna. “We had him working from 7 am to 6 pm for nearly a month, along with a lot of preparations at a gym.Everyone knows Sudeep sir has never visited the gym as regularly in his career prior to this. So this role demanded him to step out of his comfort zone and push his limits. He trained hard and succumbed to sore shoulders, bruises and cuts, as it was a tough schedule. Swinging arms and boxing is not part of one’s regular activity,” he adds.
The team had international stuntmaster Larnell Stovall roped in for the schedule. “He first worked on the pre-visualisation in the US, following which he sent us a storyboard of the scenes. Once he got our approval, he came down to India and we shot for a schedule that spanned over a month,” says Krishna.
What has Krishna most delighted is how the poster had many big names from the industry backing them. “Suniel (Shetty) anna is a part of the film and he knows it all. So it was gracious of him to release the Hindi version. The fact that we had big stars like Chiranjeevi sir, Mohanlal sir and Vijay Sethupathi sir willingly stepping in and releasing the other posters shows how the industries always stand by each other when there is something worthwhile coming along,” adds the cinematographer-turned-filmmaker.
I will fear nothing: Sudeep
Given that Pailwaan sees him do something totally different, Sudeep says, “I fear nothing... I will fear nothing. Success has never defined me, failure has never scared me. Cinema is a beautiful platform of creativity and entertainment, where I have met wonderful people and also made few good friends. I shall continue to entertain as long as I can
