Why portray a rowdy like a dancer: Suri
Director Suri is back with his first film after Anna Bond, which received a lukewarm response at the box office. This film, Kaddi Pudi, has generated a buzz because it’s the first time that Suri has worked with Shivarajkumar -- and because he has not used choreographers for the song sequences.
Kaddi Pudi, says Suri, is an experimental film in more ways than one.

In the film, the hero will neither be seen beating up several bad guys, nor will it portray him as the messiah of the masses. Suri also thought that it would be too filmi if he had roped in a choreographer for the film’s songs. He thought it would work against the natural feel he wanted to give the film. So, during filming, he played the song, observed how the actors would move to the track, and recorded it. Later, these moves were used when for the actual sequences. However, since one song, Soundarya Samara is a Kathak-themed track, Suri asked an expert for help to shoot a few moves.
However, Suri insists that there are good dance moves in the film, but the difference is that the audience will not see 15-20 people dancing behind the lead stars in Kaddi Pudi. This, he says, is because Kaddi Pudi is the story of a rowdy and there is no need to portray the character like a dancer.
