Yash responds to wedding bill
Kannada cinema's Rocking Star Yash is a busy man these days, as he jets across the city inviting the who's who of Kannada cinema, his near and dear ones, as well as his fans, to celebrate his wedding to actress Radhika Pandit with him. The wedding is touted to be one of the biggest in Sandalwood, considering the combined star power of the couple, and will see a massive gathering.

The big day, though, comes at a time when the state government is mulling the reintroduction of a previously tabled bill ' the Wedding Bill ' that targets lavish weddings.
The scale of Yash and Radhika's wedding, is, no doubt, going to be large, which they say boils down to sharing their happiness with their families, friends and fans. We asked Yash what he thought of the proposed law and this is what he had to say, 'A wedding is a very personal affair and you cannot impose restrictions on that in terms of how much one should spend. If you have earned with all your hard work and have paid taxes, nobody can stop you from spending it. What the government can instead do is clamp down on the wastage of food and water and the garbage, especially plastic, that is generated in big weddings. Put restrictions on that, as that is more important than curtailing expenditure on a wedding. When there is unnecessary wastage, expenditure goes up automatically. Having said that, if there is a tax, then let us pay it and let the government use it for a good cause.'
Yash adds, 'The government should allow people to conduct weddings in whatever style they choose to do. As far as I am concerned, I am not going to waste anything, but at the same time, I will not disappoint my family or my fianc'e, because every girl has a dream about her wedding. I may have different ideas about a wedding, but this is an occasion in which everyone needs to be taken into consideration. It is about spreading happiness. I know a lot of people, both within and outside the film industry, and I want them to be a part of my special day.'
