’s Bali is a retelling of the crucial events surrounding the murder of king Bali, which helped Rama to ally himself with the army. Through a seamless transition from the epic to every day, the play explores the notion of right and wrong in this tale of brotherhood and revenge.

Adishakti’s brand of contemporary theatre is known for its visual spectacle and moments of intense emotions. Its hallmark style has evolved over years of research to include traditional performance forms and the martial art practice of

kalaripayattu

. Written and directed by Nimmy Raphel, this production incorporates elements of Indian wrestling gusti.

The artistes of the play are Vinay Kumar, Arvind Rane, Ashiqa Salvan, Rijul Ray and Kiyomi Mehta. Bali is scheduled to take place at

Ranga Shankara

on February 23 and 24, 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm.
