Bangalore gets a Koogu for performing arts
The word 'koogu' translates to 'shout' or 'call'. And in that context, the dramatic performance Koogu uses text (primarily in English), dance, sound, song and music to give the audience new ways of sensing a performance.
This performance -- which is directed by Anish Victor and Michel Casanovas -- employs several devices to unravel the layers and textures of meanings our everyday life contains.

The narrative is non-linear and shifts between personal and general realms in an attempt to reveal that there may actually be no distinction between the two.
Koogu is being staged at Ranga Shankara on April 19 and 20.
