In a remarkable achievement, ‘12.12: The Day’ has welcomed over 10 million moviegoers in just a little over a month, marking a significant success at the Korean box office!
On the morning of December 24, the Korean Film Council made the exciting announcement, revealing that this star-studded historical film achieved the impressive milestone. Since its release on November 22, it took less than 33 days for ‘12.12: The Day’ to attract a massive audience.
This film, released in 2023, becomes only the second Korean movie of the year to reach this 10 million milestone, following the popular ‘The Roundup: No Way Out.’ Notably, what makes this accomplishment even more noteworthy is that ‘12.12: The Day’ is the first non-sequel or standalone film to surpass 10 million viewers since the groundbreaking success of the award-winning ‘Parasite’ in 2019.
For Hwang Jung Min, this marks the third film to join the coveted 10 million club, following the success of ‘Ode to My Father’ and ‘Veteran.’ Meanwhile, Jung Woo Sung celebrates his first movie reaching this remarkable milestone.
A heartfelt congratulations to the entire cast and crew of “12.12: The Day” for this outstanding achievement in Korean cinema!
