Aaru Sundarimarude Katha

Story: Aaru Sundarimarude Katha is woven around the lives of six women whose destinies become inter-linked by the presence of a common man.

Review: Aaru Sundarimarude Katha is one among those films, which in its ambitious effort to hold together too many issues, gets buried into oblivion. It is about motherly love, chaste emotions shared over web, evils of infidelity and pangs of a family shattered by lack of trust.

An aimless script ridden by multi-faceted characters, mostly women who undertake varied tasks, is the major casualty of Aaru Sundarimarude Katha. A wealthy, warm motherly figure played by Zareena Wahab plays the lead, a character that shows palpable streaks of the brash naiveté flaunted by Sheela in the film Manasinakkare. She is the link to the other five, including her daughter, granddaughter and two other women she not related to.

The plot moves like a kite out of control and tears rain in the most unwanted of scenarios. Thrill is reserved as if for eternity and finally when it happens, it looks like a deflated tyre. Prathap Pothen plays a middle-aged, rich man exhibiting traits of a playboy. In between, the plot indulges in drab sermons celebrating the real value of friendships and family virtues.
