Ningal Camera Nireekshanathilaanu

Story: Ancy is the daughter of Jose, an idealist still photographer. She goes missing from a wedding function while managing the event. And with her, the gold for the wedding is also missing. 'Ningal Camera Nireekshanathilaanu' is the investigation of the whereabouts of Ancy.

Jose is an idealist still photographer who has helped the police nap suspects in the past. But this time his own daughter is being suspected of a crime he can't fathom she is guilty of. But her being absconding isn't helping anyone either. 'Ningal Camera Nireekshanathilaanu' is the investigation surrounding Jose's daughter Ancy.

By a long stretch Jayakumar Parameshwaran Pillai's portrayal of Jose has been the best role he has played on the big screen. But his performance scope is heavily limited by the ratchety screenplay. Shivaji Guruvayoor, Sasi Kalinga are all at their possible best. However, 'Ningal Camera Nireekshanathilaanu' works best for Bhagat Manuel. He plays the rugged cop who investigates and gets to the bottom of the case. He has action sequences, and some meaty scenes to perform, however also limited by the rachtety screenplay. Praveen Chakrapani's camera work offers much solace.

But sadly, the film loses its sheen somewhere amidst a string of disjoint series of events. Much of the plot is riddled by this disconnect. The choppy editing leaves out many details that the audience has to then assume as their logical brain may see fit. It has namesake romances and namesake songs, that fill time and that's all, because they are far from even entertaining. The background score and songs sound tinny, making the entire cinematic experience unpleasant.

'Ningal Camera Nireekshanathilaanu' ends with a word of caution that you are always under the purview of a camera. Why do they end with this statement is only something they can explain. As sadly, the entire movie made no justice to this word of caution. At the end of the day, 'Ningal Camera Nireekshanathilaanu' is the sort of thriller that will leave you questioning your sensibilities. It will leave you with questions, even existential one!
