'Kaantha' box office collections day 12: Dulquer Salmaan starrer sees sharp decline; Worldwide total reaches Rs 34.77 crores

Dulquer Salmaan’s latest release 'Kaantha' is witnessing a steep slowdown in theatre footfall as it enters the tail end of its second week.

Reportedly, the film has now recorded a significant drop in collections. As reported by the Sacnilk website,on its 12th day at the box office, 'Kaantha' pushed its worldwide total to Rs 34.77 crores, with Rs 22.27 crores India net, Rs 26.32 crores India gross, and Rs 8.45 crores from overseas markets.

Tamil and Telugu markets show slowdown

The Tamil version, which initially contributed the biggest share to Kaantha’s overall business, has also seen a visible dip. The Day 12 Tamil box office trend continues to show reduced numbers following the earlier decline, with Rs 15.52 crores total in Tamil Nadu till Day 11. The last few days saw collections in lakhs instead of crores.

Similarly, the Telugu version only earned Rs 6.75 crores till Day 11

'Kaantha', directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, features Dulquer Salmaan in the lead alongside Rana Daggubati, Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse, and Bijesh Nagesh. ETimes review for the movie reads, "The film knows it's trafficking in archetypes and classical mechanics, and instead of trying to subvert them, it just plays them straight with enough craft to make the old moves land. Sometimes commitment beats cleverness."

On the other hand, Dulquer Salmaan was last seen in the actioner 'Lokah' where he made a cameo appearance as the character named Odiyan. Dulquer will be next seen in the Nahas Hidhayath's directorial 'I' m Game'.
