Mammootty was supposed to play 'Dr Sunny' in Manichithrathazhu !
When the movie Manichithrathazhuwas announced several filmmakers suggested director Fazil to cast Mammootty for the part of psychiatrist "Dr. Sunny Joseph", but he wanted the character to be light hearted and funny, so the director cast Mohanlal instead.
