Malayalam actor Abu Salim is known the best for his villain roles and many also admire him for his incredible physique.
He is someone who came into the film industry alongside juggling careers as a fitness enthusiast and a cop. Recently, he posted a video on his online social media page, in which he can be seen attempting a tough variation of the push-up exercise.
The exercise, which is known as Lallane push-up, which is named after the famed American fitness expert Jack Lallane, is often considered a great exercise for shoulders. Experts often quote it as a move that can be done only by those with a good overall body strength. It is to be done lying down on one’s belly on the floor, with one’s arms extended directly out to the front. One has to lift the body up with core strength, from this position.
Abu Salim, who was the winner of titles like Mr Calicut in 1981, Mr Kerala in 1982, Mr South India thrice in 1983, 1986 and 1987 and Mr India title in 1984 and a fifth place in it in 1992, has challenged Malayalam actors and athletes to try out the push-up variation. As a caption to his video, the fitness enthusiast wrote, ‘Now that‘s my style of push up, I challenge @tovinothomas @iamunnimukundan & and young athletes, post ur videos tagging me #abukkaschallenge.’
Now, how many from Mollywood would dare to take it up? Let’s wait and watch!
