Aju Varghese is still basking in the box-office success of 'Thattathin Marayathu'. Now, he has been on a signing spree. The actor, who was last seen in 'Bhoopadathil Ilathoridam' in a supporting role alongside Nivin Pauly, has signed up for three short films, directed by the three assistants, who worked with Vineeth Sreenivasan in 'Thattahin Marayathu'. When asked what prompted him to take up short films than full-length feature films, he says with glee, These debutant directors have incredible scripts and concepts.
I believe my association with them will help me learn more about films. Moreover, its resourceful, yet exciting to be in touch with this format of film making.
Aju will be seen in
A Small Curse, directed by Anzal, who assisted cinematographer Ravi Varman in Prabhu Devas Tamil flick,
Villu. Aju, who will be playing the lead, will share the screen with debutants Arshad, Deepak and Zubin. The story revolves around a curse that affects the life of a person.
His second short film, Ganesh Rajans
Kuttichodhyam, will see him playing a gurka (a watchman), alongside Aparna Nair and Ronedavid Raj. Aju will be a journalist in his third short film, Yellow Pen, directed by Jude Antony Joseph of
Crazy Gopalan fame. Rajeev Pillai, Apoorva Bose, Sabu Mangalaserry and Pradeep will be his co-stars here.
While Anand C Chandu will crank the camera, Arun Chandra will be the art designer for the three short films. Lijo Paul, of Vellaripravinte Changathi fame will edit these short films. Aju has just wrapped the shoot for Sunil Ibrahims Chapters.
