Alphonse Puthren is all excited for Tom Cruise’s ‘Top Gun: Maverick’

‘Top Gun: Maverick’, the much-awaited sequel of the 1986 release ‘Top Gun’, is gearing up for the release, and cinephiles across the globe are eagerly waiting. Recently Tom Cruise, who is playing the lead character in the film, shared a glimpse of the intense training session and BTS scenes from the film, and it has taken both the cinephiles and cineastes by surprise.Malayalam filmmaker Alphonse Puthren too was thrilled to watch the video. The ‘Premam’ director referred to the execution of the film as ‘next gen filmmaking.”
“Top Gun - Maverick. Really next Gen film making. Salute to the entire team. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 (sic),” Alphonse Puthren said in his Facebook post.
Meanwhile, while sharing the BTS video earlier, Tom Cruise had said, “This has been a long time coming,” and the cinephiles couldn’t agree more. “We worked with the Navy and the Top Gun school to formulate how to shoot it practically. Because if we're gonna do it, we're gonna fly in the F-18s,” Tom Cruise said.

‘Top Gun’ was directed by Tony Scott, and its upcoming sequel is helmed by Joseph Kosinski. From creating the real aviation scenes to actors undergoing underwater training, and even learning the basics of cinematography and lighting, so that they could direct themselves while on the aircraft, everything about the upcoming film is exciting. Starring Tom Cruise, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ will hit the screens on May 27.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Alphonse Puthren is currently working on his upcoming directorial 'Gold' featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The makers had launched a teaser from the film a month ago, however, they made sure to keep the plot of the film under wraps. The team is reportedly nearing the completion of post-production works and the film is expected to be hitting the big screens this year.
