‘Ashakal Aayiram’ teaser: Jayaram and Kalidas are seen in a funny drunk act; father-son reunite after 22 years

Actors Jayaram and Kalidas Jayaram are coming together again on screen after 22 long years. Their new film is titled ‘Ashakal Aayiram’. Directed by G. Prajith, the movie is set to release on February 6. The father son duo was last seen together in ‘Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum’ and the real-life father and son will be sharing the screen once more. The makers released the teaser on Tuesday. The teaser opens outside a house. Jayaram and Kalidas are seen standing together. Jayaram’s wife and Kalidas’s mother opens the door. Both men enter the house quietly. They do not say a word. They try hard to walk properly. It becomes clear very soon that they are drunk. They think they are acting very well. But no one is fooled. Their expressions and shaky steps say it all.After moving away from his wife, Jayaram tells his son, “She didn’t even realise that I am drunk. That’s acting!” Kalidas replies, “She didn’t realise I am drunk either; that too is acting.” Jayaram then walks toward the room but turns the wrong way. His wife shouts from behind, “Right.” Kalidas is seen wearing sunglasses and slowly going upstairs. The mother then says to her daughter, “Chugs cheap booze, stumbles in on shaky legs, and apparently that’s acting.” This moment brings a lot of laughs. Jayaram and Kalidas have worked together before in ‘Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal’ and ‘Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum’. Their bond has always been loved by viewers. Ashakal Aayiram also stars Asha Sharath, Sharafudheen, Ishani Krishna, Anand Manmadhan, and Akhil Nrd. The teaser promises a warm story filled with humour, family moments, and simple fun. On the work front, actor Jayaram was last seen in the Kannada blockbuster ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ directed and led by Rishab Shetty. Meanwhile, Kalidas Jayaram made his last cinematic outing in the Tamil film ‘Por’, which was released in 2024.
