Asif Ali to speak Kannur slang next

Kannur and its locales continue to charm our filmmakers and the next project to embrace its flavours is Bicycle Thieves-fame Jis Joy’s upcoming movie. The film has Asif Ali in the lead and is scripted by debutants Kiran VS and Urasu.
Jis Joy says it will be a rom-com with a message. “The major portions of the film will be shot in Kannur and Kottayam, and Asif will sport a different look, and will mouth Kannur dialect.He will look and act every bit a person from the district. Though a rom-com, the film is about lost love. We want to give the audience enough motivation and positive messages to carry home. The movie’s shoot will start in September,” says Jis. Nedumudi Venu, KPAC Lalitha, Aju Varghese, Sreenath Bhasi and Saiju Kurup are the other actors. The director adds that the heroine is yet to be finalised.
Asif’s latest release is Roopesh Peethambaran’s You Too Brutus. His upcoming projects are Nirnayakam, Double Barrel, Driver on Duty and Adventures of Omanakuttan.
