CBFC directs Mammootty and Mohanlal starrer ‘Patriot’ to undergo cuts before May 1 release - Reports

'Patriot' marks a major reunion for Malayalam cinema legends Mammootty and Mohanlal and expectations are high for Mahesh Narayanan's directorial. Latest reports say that the Censor Board suggested cuts for 'Patriot'. The film, which reunites Mammootty and Mohanlal after 19 years, is now being re-edited, according to the Reporter Live website.

Political thriller genre concerns in 'Patriot'

As a political thriller, 'Patriot' reportedly contains sensitive content. The Censor Board asked for the removal of potentially controversial scenes. One major change involves the villain’s name, which reportedly resembled that of a political leader’s son. The makers have been instructed to alter this name.

Re-editing process completed

Reports further say that the re-editing work has already finished at Lal Media Studio in Kochi. The team worked quickly to incorporate the suggested changes. Once the revised print is submitted and cleared, the film will proceed with its original release plan which is set for May 1.To build excitement, an exclusive chat show featuring Mammootty, Mohanlal and the team will stream on April 23 at 6 PM.Along with Mammootty, Mohanlal, Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, and Nayanthara, the cast of this actioner further includes Jinu Joseph, Rajeev Menon, Danish Husain, Shaheen Siddique, Sanal Aman, Darshana Rajendran, and others in pivotal roles.
