Chiri tells of the coming together of three school friends when one gets married. Amid the stresses of the lockdown, director duo Joseph and Krishnakumar’s film is a nostalgic mood-lifter.
Produced by Murali Haritham under the banner of Dreambox Productions, the film takes a non-linear pattern. It is available globally through the First Show OTT platform.
Apart from newcomers Joe John Chacko, Kevin Jose, Aneesh Gopal and female lead Megha Sathyan, the film also has Sreejith Ravi, Sunil Sugatha and Harikrishnan. Jinz Vinson wields the camera and Jazzie Gift and Prince George have composed the music.
The profit from the movie is earmarked for charity purposes, such as providing 500 dialysis, a kidney transplant and a house to a needy family, according to the filmmakers.
Director-writer C Radhakrishnan says, “This is a film that everyone should watch. Audiences feel that good movies are not made anymore in Malayalam. Chiri will change that misconception. This film is a charming venture that we rarely see nowadays and will strike a chord with audiences.”
