Composer Rahul Raj’s wife Miriam makes novel eco-friendly request for daughter's birthday

Composer Rahul Raj’s wife Miriam has a special request for her daughter’s birthday. She wants to gift her daughter second-hand toys.
“As my daughter's birthday is approaching I felt the strong urge to do something different this year. It's a year dedicated to the sanity of mother earth. So why not reduce some of the plastic waste?” she says in the post, while making the request for Barbie accessories, Legos or Hatchimals, adding that her daughter is a “nature loving child and wouldn't mind if still in good condition”.
Miriam, who has been involved with recycling projects in Kochi earlier, says she has been unsuccessful in her request as hand-me-downs are not common here for gifting, but she’s hoping to cut down on the plastic and plastic packaging.
