Dinesh Prabhakar alerts aspiring actors of a casting scam

Actor-casting director Dinesh Prabhakar, in his latest note, has warned netizens and aspiring actors to beware of a fraudster impersonating him and extracting money, and offering roles in films.

In his latest social media post, Dinesh Prabhakar said that a person is impersonating him, and is asking for money from people by promising them a role in a film or advertisement.

“Please read this message with utmost importance. It has come to my attention that someone has created a new account using my details. This person is asking for money in exchange for a role in a film or advertisement,” he said in the note.

Dinesh Prabhakar also shared that one should report immediately if they come across such a scam, and do not send money. “I want to clarify that I have never asked anyone for money in return for an acting opportunity, and anyone who receives similar messages should report and block immediately. If some people have already sent money, please verify the authenticity of the same as it might be a scam,” the note further read.

A popular actor, Dinesh Prabhakar is considered the first casting director in Malayalam cinema. Though he started working as a casting director much earlier, it was the 2013 film 'Thira' directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, that actually gave him credit as a casting director. Dinesh Prabhakar has been working in the show business for over two decades and is now a popular face for movie buffs.

On the work front, one of his recent releases was 'The Teacher' starring Amala Paul, which was released in 2022.
