Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘King of Kotha’ starts rolling; Aishwarya Lekshmi joins the cast

Dulquer Salmaan starrer ‘King Of Kotha’ has reportedly gone on floors today (Sep 26) in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. Touted to be a gangster film, ‘King Of Kotha’ is helmed by Abhilash Joshiy and it has also been confirmed that actress Aishwarya Lekshmi will be playing the leading lady. Dulquer Salmaan has referred to ‘King Of Kotha’ as a ‘dream project’, as he is collaborating with his ‘first ever and best friend’ Abhilash Joshiy. While launching the first look poster Dulquer Salmaan penned, “Here’s a first look poster of a dream project with my first ever and best friend Abhilash Joshiy. We’ve known each other since diapers and grew up with our common love for cinema and cars and photography and travel. We’ve been trying to find the perfect project for his debut for the past few years. Finally we feel we’ve locked something that excites us and hopefully you all will love it. Stay tuned to this space to know more about the movie. Here is a first look poster of #KingOfKotha (sic).” Abhilash is the son of veteran filmmaker Joshiy and the latter’s collaboration with Mammootty has delivered many blockbusters including ‘New Delhi’ and ‘Dhruvam’. Speaking to Kochi Times earlier, Abhilash said, “Dulquer was the obvious choice for me, because we grew up together and he is the person I am closest to in the industry. I pitched it to him first and he liked it and said he wanted to do it. It is a gangster film that has romance and songs and is a complete entertainment package that will appeal to youth and families.”
