Durga Krishna on postpartum pain; actor says, "I feel like I’ve lost my husband and gained only a co-parent'

Actress Durga Krishna has shared an emotional note about life after childbirth. She spoke about something that many women feel but rarely talk about.Durga asked a question: “You hold your baby close, but who holds you?”A fan asked Durga on Instagram, "What is the hardest part of postpartum that no one warned you about?" In reply Durga shared an emotional note.She began by saying, "I need to say this out loud: I am completely obsessed with my baby. But I am also struggling with a deep sadness that I can’t explain to those who only see the surface. I’m drowning in the middle of all this love." Durga then spoke about how her relationship changed after becoming a mother. She wrote, "The truth is that I feel like I’ve lost my husband and gained only a co-parent. The person who looked after me during pregnancy has disappeared and replaced by someone who only sees the baby while I have become invisible."She spoke about her sacrifices, "I am the one who sacrificed my career, my body, my health, and my sleep. I am the one who stays awake in the quiet of the night while he sleeps in another room.""I am holding my baby with everything I have left. But my arms are shaking because no one is holding me," Durga added.She explained that the change was not just about becoming a mother. "I haven’t just changed roles. I feel like I’ve lost my marriage." The actor also spoke about love and sadness together. "I am obsessed with the life I created. But I am depressed by the loneliness of the life I’m now living."Durga Krishna married Arjun Ravindran in 2021 and the couple welcomed their baby girl in November 2025.Her latest movie release was Dileep's 'Thankamani' in 2024. The movie received poor reviews from the audience and our ETimes review says, "There were some scenes that stood out throughout, both good and bad. It's difficult to keep a straight face and continue watching. As much as it was difficult to look at the screen, that's one part that was done too well, with old school symbolism to show what happened. The dramatisation also fails to give valid excuses for some of the things that happened, like a suicide, especially given the fact that the girl managed to stay alive in such horrifying circumstances in the beginning."Durga will be next seen in Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph's action thriller 'Ram'.
