Gopi Sunder recreates ‘Ammayi’ for Nikkah

While the ripples he created in Mollywood’s music world with the superhit song 'Ammayi' in Ustad Hotel is yet to subside, composer Gopi Sunder is ready with a new version of the song.
This time, he has recreated the original folk number Appatharangal koombaramayi; ammayi chuttu vachu marumonikku, which allegedly, inspired the film song.
About the song which is a part of the upcoming film, Nikkah, Gopi says, “The song is not a remix of Ustad Hotel’s Appangal embadum.It is a recreation of an old folk song. Many have alleged that the film song was a remix of this particular song. I want all people who believed such rumours to listen to the recreation of the original folk song and see for themselves how baseless the allegations were.”
The composer adds, “The song in Nikkah is no remix either. Eranjoli Moosa is an exponent in mappilapattu and he added his special touch to the recreated version of the song.” Starring Maqbool Salmaan, Nikkah has a Muslim wedding as its central theme.
