Veteran actress Urvashi has reportedly joined Instagram after several requests from her fans. Urvashi has a legion of fans, thanks to the countless characters she has breathed life into! The National award-winning actress has apparently joined Instagram so that she could keep her fans posted about her whereabouts. Urvashi dropped her first post a week back, wherein she can be seen along with her family. She has also posted two videos, and in one she can be seen speaking about why she decided to join Instagram. “Hello everyone. Exploring the world of Instagram. Daughter of popular drama actors Chavara VP Nair and Vijayalakshmi, Urvashi ventured into movies at a very young age. She was only 10, when she signed her first film ‘Kathirmandapam’, in 1979. She was around 14 when she starred as a heroine, a mother of a toddler in the Tamil film ‘Munthanai Mudichchu’ directed by K Bhagyaraj. The following year, she debuted as a lead actress in Malayalam. There has been no looking back for Urvashi ever since then. A winner of the National Film Award, Urvashi also holds the record for winning the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress, five times, of which three were consecutive wins from 1989 to 1991. She has also bagged two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. From Kamal Haasan to Mohanlal, Urvashi has worked with some of the biggest stars in South cinema.On the work front, Urvashi’s recent release was ‘Charles Enterprises’.
