It's cricket time for M-Town filmmakers

Mollywood directors, who recently started a new cricket team, are busy attending a 15-day coaching camp. The team will undergo rigorous training, starting today, before their debut match in Sharjah on December 1, where they will be playing against the team of actors from Kerala. The team will also have three practice matches across the state. 'We will be having yoga and counselling as well, besides the regular training in the sport to help us perform well,' M A Nishad, team captain, tells us. Director and team member Mamas chips in, 'The practice session is really interesting. It's fun to watch everyone coming together for the game. It's much like doing a film, where team work matters the most,' says the director, who is playing cricket on a professional level for the first time. 'After cinema, the one passion that binds together us filmmakers is cricket,' he says. The directors' team comprises M A Nishad, Diphan (vice-captain), Johny Antony, Saji Surendran, Lijo Jose, Vinod Vijayan, Sohan Seenulal, Akku Akbar, Mamas, Sujith S Nair, Suresh Krishnan, Sujith Janardhanan and Uday Ananthan. K C Sateesh is the team's coach and Mecartin, the manager.
