Actor
Jayaram has spoken openly about his long journey in cinema and the many ups and downs he faced. He said there were times in his career when many people ignored him. He shared this while speaking on Gopinath’s Tamil podcast.
The 'Kantara' star said, “There was a time when many people ignored me; when a failure happens, everything we did is seen as wrong.”
He explained that success and failure always come in cycles. According to him, after two or three films become successful, the next two or three often fail. Then he works hard again and reaches success.
Jayaram said this has been happening for the past 38 years. Jayaram spoke calmly and openly, without blaming anyone. He said this is how his career has moved forward for decades.

Jayaram says success brings praise and failure brings blame
Jayaram said that people’s opinions change very fast in the film world. When there is success, everyone speaks nicely about you. But when even one failure comes, everything you did suddenly feels wrong to people. He said, “When there is success, everyone speaks well about you. But when a failure comes, everything you did is seen as wrong.”
He added that during difficult times, many people leave you alone.
But those moments teach you the biggest lessons in life. Jayaram said that phase was his true learning period. He believes that many top actors reached their high position only after going through struggles like this.
From Padmarajan to a golden run
Jayaram recalled how his career started in a surprising way. He said Padmarajan, who was a very big director at that time, introduced him directly as a hero in 'Aparan'. The turning point came when Padmarajan saw a mimicry cassette of Jayaram performing in the Gulf.
Jayaram said he did not have to look back for nearly 20 years after 'Aparan' received much recognition. His rise to fame was unbelievable. He acted as the lead hero in 15 films directed by Sathyan Anthikad who is still a leading director today. He also worked in ten to twelve films each with many senior directors. That phase made him one of the most loved actors in Malayalam cinema.
Falling down and climbing back again
Jayaram said that when his journey suddenly reached a high point he faced a big setback and fell down. From there it took a lot of hard work to climb back up. Again after two or three films succeeded, the next two or three failed. Then he struggled again and reached success. He said clearly that this has been the pattern of his career for 38 years.
Jayaram will be next seen in 'Aashakal Aayiram' which comes after his comeback hit 'Abraham Ozler'. His son Kalidas Jayaram is also playing an important role in 'Aashakal Aayiram' and the fans are eagerly waiting for the duo to lit up the screens after a long hiatus.
