The much-awaited 52nd Kerala State Film Awards will be announced today. Saji Cherian, Minister for Culture, will announce the winners today (May 27) at 4 pm. A jury headed by Bollywood filmmaker and screenwriter Saeed Akhtar Mirza has analyzed the films, and about 142 films were submitted for the awards, of which 45 have reportedly reached the final round.

Nimisha Sajayan’s names are being considered in the final round for the Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actress! Revathy Asha’s performance as the mother in the horror thriller ‘Bhoothakaalam’ has moved the jury members. And Nimisha Sajayan’s performances in films ‘Malik’ by Mahesh Narayanan and ‘Nayattu’ by Martin Prakat have dazzled the panel!
It is worth mentioning that Revathy Asha has won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1992 for her performance in the Tamil film ‘Thevar Magan’. She has bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in English for her directorial ‘Mitr, My Friend’ featuring
Shobana in the lead. She has also won the National Film Award for Best Non-Feature Film on Family Welfare for her directorial ‘Red Building where the Sun Sets’. Nimisha Sajayan too is a shining star, who has won the Kerala State Film Award for Best actress in 2018, a year after her debut, for films ‘Oru Kuprasidha Payyan’, and ‘Chola’.
Fahadh Faasil, Joju George, and Biju Menon are reportedly in the final run for the Best Actor award.
