‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ box office collections day 16: Asif Ali’s film collects Rs 55.8 crores

Asif Ali’s mystery thriller film ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ is proving to be another hit for the actor this year.According to the Sacnilk, ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ has minted Rs 55.8 crores worldwide in 16 days. The India net collection for the film stands at Rs 30.7 crores and the Indian gross collections are Rs 34.3 crores.The movie also did an exceptional performance abroad as it collected Rs 21.5 crores overseas in 16 days. Coming to the Kerala box office, the movie minted Rs 1 crore (early estimates) on day 16 from KBO. The Malayalam net box office collections for 16 days are Rs 30.7 crores.‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ is the sophomore directorial venture of Dinjith Ayyathan who first tasted success with his directorial debut film ‘Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha’ which also starred Asif Ali in the lead. ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ hit the big screens on September 12 along with Tovino’s most awaited film ‘Ajayante Randam Moshanam’. Both the films received good reviews from the audiences. The Tovino starrer has managed to collect Rs 77 crores worldwide. The period action drama was directed by the debutant Jithin Lal.ETimes rated ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ 3.5 out of 5 and called it a haunting and beautiful experience. Asif Ali’s performance along with Vijayaraghavan and Aparna Balamurali, were said to be the main highlight of the film. ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ is hailed as one of the best unique thrillers ever made in Mollywood. The movie marks Asif Ali's second hit this year after the Jis Joy's directorial mystery thriller film 'Thalavan' which also featured the actor Biju Menon in the lead.
