After AMMA meeting on Sunday, there were reports that actors and technicians of Malayalam film industry have agreed to a 50% pay cut while working in movies after the lockdown.
However, director
Jayaraj, who heads the technicians’ body MACTA, said that the association doesn’t interfere in the remuneration of its members. “Several channels have reported that the technicians have reduced their pay by 50% and daily wage workers by 25% and that MACTA have informed this to the producers’ association.
This is to clarify that we haven’t taken any such decision,” he said, in a press release.
On Sunday, AMMA executive Ganesh Kumar said, “We were set to discuss the remuneration issue of actors as requested by the producers. However, as the meeting was interrupted, we haven’t taken any decision on this matter.”
