Malayalis' sense of humour hijacked by religion: Joy

Joy Mathew had recently posted a picture of himself dressed up as 'Theyyam' for a film. However, his facebook page soon got inundated with comments suggesting that actors like him insult Gods. Joy Mathew has lashed out against the haters in his next post, where he is dressed up as a Muslim man for the film 'Pareeth Pandari'.
'From my last post, I realised that religion has hijacked Malayalis' sense of humour.How many births will they need to distinguish between a character in a film and real life? Just as I was thinking I would dress up as a Godman next, instead of a God, I got this character, of a Muslim man. He is named Ustad Sheik Azeez,' he wrote.
