Manju Warrier's film 'Footage's release has been postponed due to severe weather conditions affecting various parts of Kerala, including multiple landslides in the Wayanad district. The film, originally slated to hit theaters on August 2, has seen its release delayed as a mark of respect and solidarity with those impacted by the natural disaster.The announcement was made via the film’s official social media handles, with the makers stating that a new release date will be confirmed soon. An Instagram post from the film's team read, “Prayerfully with the people of Wayanad who are trembling in the torrential rains and landslides. The release of our film Footage, which was scheduled for August 2nd, has been postponed to another day.”

'Footage' marks the directorial debut of Saiju Sreedharan, who is best known for his work as an editor. In addition to directing and editing, Saiju Sreedharan has co-written the film with Shabna Mohammed.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Shinoz and the post-rock band aswekeepsearching, who have composed the original motion picture soundtrack. 'Footage' is touted as Malayalam cinema’s first found-footage film and features Vishak Nair and Gayathri Ashok alongside Manju Warrier in the lead roles.Presented by prominent Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, 'Footage' has been certified 'A' by the censor board. The film has generated significant buzz due to its unique promotion style which went viral recently.
