Actress
Meera Vasudevan has spoken openly about the intimate scene in the
Mohanlal and
Blessy film 'Thanmathra'. The scene was talked about a lot after the film released. Meera said that at the time of shooting her comfort was the most important thing for everyone involved. But later the same scene was spread in a negative way which hurt her.
First meeting and clear communication
Meera spoke to Manorama Online about the very first meeting of 'Thanmathra'. She said that the director Blessy spoke about the scene clearly during story narration.
She shared, “During the very first meeting of 'Thanmathra' while narrating the story Blessy sir spoke to me about that scene. He clearly said that even if I said no it would not be a problem. He also told me that they had approached many senior actresses but they were dropped only because of this particular scene.” Meera said she understood the importance of the scene and decided to do her best.
Shooting with care and respect
While shooting Meera asked for some simple things to feel safe. She said, “While shooting the scene I told Blessy sir that I would be more comfortable performing if only a few people were present there. I also said that my private parts should be properly covered.” She explained that the team kept their promise fully. Only Blessy, the associate director, the cameraman and the focus puller were present. Everyone tried to make her feel relaxed and respected.
Support from Mohanlal
Meera also spoke about Mohanlal’s support during the shoot. She said “During the shoot Mohanlal sir and I both made sure to keep each other comfortable. Mohanlal sir and everyone else gave priority to my comfort at that time. Because of that I did not feel any difficulty in doing the scene at all.” She then spoke about what happened later. “But later that scene was circulated in a very negative way. After that all this is professional. There is nothing personal in this.”
