My acting stint will help me to direct a film: Salaam Bukhari
Salaam Bukhari never thought that he would get in front of the camera because direction was all he wanted to do. But, the two-film-old actor believes that the acting stint has helped him to think from an actor’s point of view.
Salaam, who soon plans to direct a film with a leading young actor, says, “Now I know the problems an artiste face. If I hadn’t taken up acting, I wouldn’t have known the time lapse an actor requires and many other things related to an artiste.”
Salaam started off as an assistant to Vinod Vijayan and has worked as an associate in Anwar Rasheed films.

He has acted in two films, as IT guy Salaam in North 24 Kaatham and as magician-turned-thief Salaam Pasha in Sapthama Sree Thaskaraha. “Acting was never my cup of tea, but it was Fahadh and Anil who wanted me to do the role of a cunning guy in North 24 Kaatham. I guess Anil observed my nature and gave that role to me.” (laughs)
Playing a magician was equally interesting for the actor as he could master a few tricks. “If acting or direction does not click, I definitely have another job at hand,” he says. Salaam will be seen in a negative role in Amal Neerad’s Iyobinte Pustakam.
