Actor Chemban Vinod, who has been essaying distinct roles mostly with a rustic tinge, has a dream. He wants to appear as a rapper on the silver screen. Chemban is elated that the rap movements he did in Lijo Jose Pellisserry’s
Double Barrel received accolades from the audience. He did the role of Diesel in the movie and the character’s free-style rap dialogue, ‘give respect and take respect’ are now being imitated by many.
“I really enjoyed doing my role in Double Barrel. But the character had only a few ‘rap’ scenes. I wish to do a full-length rapper role,” says Chemban, who is also a hardcore fan of club music and heavy metal.
The actor, who has been living in Bangalore since the age of 18 is a hardcore Western music buff. Though he does not usually follow any specific genre, he has some good collections of contemporary music as well as classics. “Of late, my music box includes songs of Taylor Swift and 50 Cent. I also love to listen to DJ Tiesto, David Guetta, and songs from Tomorrowland,” he says.
His love for rap music is such that he now observes rap movements and incorporates them in his body language. “Though I am not trained, I have imbibed the movements by intentionally observing and practising them. I consciously try to add some rap gestures in my movements. It’s really fun,” he says.
The actor is currently busy with the shoot of
Darwinte Parinamam in which he appears as a goon.
