Nayanthara to play the leading lady in Alphonse Puthren’s ‘Paattu’

Director Alphonse Puthren had announced a few months ago that his next film is titled ‘Paattu,’ and it will have Fahadh Faasil as the lead. Now, the director has revealed that his movie’s leading lady would be Nayanthara.
He posted on his social media page: Happy to announce that Lady Superstar Nayanthara is joining our feature film ‘Paattu’. The hero is Fahadh Faasil and the heroine is Nayanthara.Will announce further updates about cast and crew soon .
Around September, announcing the project, Alphonse had said on his online page, “My next feature film is titled Paattu (song). Fahadh Faasil is the hero of the film. This time I will be doing music too. It will be in Malayalam language. Will update rest of the crew and cast members while the film progresses.” Both films from Alphonse had hit songs and so, his fans are also eagerly waiting to see how he would handle the role of a music composer, in his third film.
In an interview with a prominent online portal a few months ago, the director had said that that he is learning more about music and can also compose. He had also said that he had a film with Kalidas Jayaram in the making, which was a fun entertainer. But, it had to be dropped as the film was taking a long time to materialise.
Alphonse Putharen had debuted in Malayalam through the Nivin Pauly – Nazriya Nazim starrer film ‘Neram,’ in the year 2013. The movie, which was a bilingual, was a full-length version of a short film that he had previously made. Alphonse had also edited and written the film’s screenplay. In the year 2015, he directed the coming-of-age movie ‘Premam,’ which was considered a game-changer by many.
