Dussehra, also known as
Vijayadashami falls on October 15 this year. The festival marks the end of 9 days long
Navratri celebrations. The Hindu festival is celebrated in different ways across the nation, and it signifies the triumph of good over evil. In some parts, the festival marks the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana, and in others, it is the triumph of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishadura.
This Dussehra is very special for ‘Kasaba’ actress
Neha Saxena as the diva is observing the festival with her mom after almost a decade. “I do visit mom every now and then, but in the past 10 years, I have hardly got a chance to be with her for the Navratri celebrations. So this year, I am back in Dehradun, my hometown, and observing the nine-day-long Navratri celebration with mom. I am celebrating the festival with mom, after a decade,” Neha Saxena shares in an exclusive chat with ETimes.
The actress shares that she never skips Navratri fasting, no matter whether she is on a tight schedule or filming, she makes sure to follow it, “Navratri fasting is said to be miraculous, and I always manage to do it with proper rituals, no matter what. I used to do the havan ( a fire ritual performed on special occasions) in hotel rooms while shooting. Navratri is that important for me.”
Neha Saxena also speaks in length about Kanya puja, Akhanda deepam, how she observes fasting during the nine days, and much more.
