A whodunnit that takes place in a cafe; Madhuram ee Jeevitham director Anil Philip’s next film, Michael’s Coffee House, is a thriller that has a youthful ambience. As a young couple enjoy each other’s company in a coffee shop, they get drawn into trying to solve the mystery of a murder that takes place there. The film, which is set for release, has
Dheeraj Denny and
Margret Antony as the lead pair.
Dimpled hunk Dheeraj is a cousin of Nivin Pauly and Tovino Thomas. “The film, which was shot largely in Angamaly, was finished nearly six months back before the pandemic struck. Though it is a thriller, it is also an entertainer that will appeal to youth and families,” says a source, who worked on the project.
The film also features Renji Panicker, Dr Rony, Jins Baskar and Spadikam George, among others. “It is a good comeback role for Spadikam George, who has an important role in the film,” says the source. Speaking about whether Michael’s Coffee House is looking for a theatrical or OTT release, he says, “While discussions are on, the film was made on a fairly big budget, so it would be more suited for a theatre release, though we will have to see how things pan out.”
The film is written and produced by Jisso Jose. Dheeraj Denny, who had earlier acted in Kalki and Edakkad Battalion, also has Karnan Napoleon Bhagat, directed by Sarath G Menon, set for release. The songs were released recently on social media.
