Why do Keralas youth need six pack abs? As theatres in the state reverberate with applause for the hit dialogue in director Vineeth Sreenivasans latest romantic flick, actor Narain, who is balancing his debut villain act in the big-budget Kwood flick, 'Mugammoodi', and simultaneously doing a prominent role in Lal Joses next, will give you the answer. I havent seen the flick yet; but yes, even I feel that unless you are really keen on having a six pack, it is not a necessity, even for an actor. Which is why, my villain role as Anguchamy aka Dragon in director Myshkins 'Mugammoodi', doesnt come in a six-pack avatar. The character I play holds equal prominence as that of the superhero played by actor
Jiiva. But neither me nor Myshkin felt that six packs was an absolute must for the villain act, reasons Narain, adding, M-Town has more of earthy, rooted-to-reality roles, which can be carried off aesthetically without six packs et al.
The actor, who is currently in Ottapalam shooting for Lal Joses new movie, is joining hands with
Prithviraj a third time in his career, after 'Classmates' and 'Robinhood'. Rumour mills worked non-stop about the alleged split between Prithviraj and him when the makers of Veeraputhran chose to have him in the role of freedom fighter Abdu Rahiman Sahib, which, apparently, was written with Prithviraj in mind.
Top it with Mumbai Dosth, the project that was to have the two stars together, having Narain backing out, and buzz was that the two actors would never share screenspace. Really? Was there so much news doing the rounds? Now that we are working together again, I hope all these rumours are answered, says the actor, adding, Weve had no problem between us, whatsoever. In fact, it was Prithvi who referred me to Fazal, the director of 'Mumbai Dosth'. I had to back out because I couldnt work out the dates for the project.
