Nyla tries romance for the first time

Nyla tries romance for the first time
After family drama (Kunjananthante Kada), comedy (PunyalanAgarbathis), and a thriller (The Gangster), actress Nyla Usha is readyto experiment with a new genre -- romance. Vambathi is a pure love story, in which Nyla is paired opposite Mollywood's heartthrob Fahadh Faasil. Written and directed by debutant Remya Raj, the movie is based on a real-life incident.

Nyla, who plays a doctor named Smitha, says her character comes in two phases -- one as a house surgeon and the other as a doctor. "Smitha is a humanitarian by nature who meets Madan, played by Fahadh, and helps him at various junctures in his life," she adds. Quiz her on what hooked her on to the project, she says, "Vambathi is inspired from a real life story, with elements that can engage any audience. The story is something that I have never heard, neither in my real life nor in any film that I know. It is a daring subject and so I thought being a part of it will be awesome."
As the story takes place in a forest, the shoot will be held in a few wooded areas of Kerala and some rural areas in Tamil Nadu. While the mere thought of shooting in a dense jungle might sound formidable, for the Dubai-based RJ, it is also exciting. "I am totally excited to shoot in a jungle. I live in a cosmopolitan city (Dubai) all round the year. So these are the moments when I get to breathe reality. I am sure it is going to be fun," she explains.
And for an actress who has experimented with diverse characters -- from a homely mother to a bold and independent wife -- preparing for a romantic role should be a cakewalk. "I have time till October and so I have not begun my preparations yet. Maybe close to the shoot of the movie I will start thinking about it," says Nyla, adding that she is likely to do another project before Vambathi. "Talks are going on. I haven't finalised the project yet."
