Priya Lal was last seen in a period film, Kunthapura, in which she played a girl from a royal family, who is also an archaeology student. The actress, we hear, has now signed a fun fantasy film as her next in M-Town. Titled Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi (LL7K), the movie will see her in a new get-up altogether.
Says Priya, “My first project in Malayalam was Janakan, where I played a rape victim.
My role in LL7K is totally different from the few films I have done so far. Right now, I can only reveal that the role offered to me is a performance-oriented one.” Quiz the actress why she chose a fun fantasy film as her next, and she replies, “I am being selective in Malayalam. I was waiting for something interesting to come my way and this project offered to me by Anil sir is a challenging one. It is also his style of making films that made me take it up. I have watched his films, North 24 Kaatham and Sapthamashree Thaskaraha; he has given equal prominence to the heroines of his films. I don’t want to take up any role coming my way. I want people to remember me for the kind of roles I take up and I believe LL7K is a good opportunity for me.”
The shoot is progressing in Idukki and every actor in the project will be seen in a different look. “The movie is about deforestation and it is going to be a visual treat,” adds Priya. The actress, who is balancing her studies along with films, also has a Tamil and Telugu project in her kitty. She plays a village belle in the Tamil film Veerabagu directed by Senthil Kumar. The Telugu movie, Okkosari, is a rom-com, set to release soon.
