Coming to the Kerala box office collections in detail, ‘Rekhachithram’ has collected Rs 16.31 crores at the Malayalam Net box office, and on day 7 the film collected Rs 1.21 crore as per the early estimates. The movie opened with Rs 1.9 crore at the KBO which was followed by Rs 2.2 crore, Rs 3.3 crore, Rs 3.75 crore, Rs 1.95 crore, and Rs 2 crore from days 2 to 6 respectively. The day-wise collections indicate an upward trend for the Asif Ali starrer.
With Rs 33.5 crores in the kitty, ‘Rekhachithram’ has set new targets of Rs 40 crore and Rs 50 crore which is expected to be attained within a few weeks.
ETimes review for the movie reads, “Manoj K. Jayan and Zarin Shihab played their roles in a grounded and believable manner. Asif Ali has delivered a clean, subtle performance that suits the tone of the film. Anaswara Rajan, for once, has been utilised, and she gets the chance to use her acting prowess a little, even if the role is not a groundbreaking one. The lack of face-off dialogue between the protagonist and the antagonist makes it way better, especially because their silent face-offs have a much better impact and make them somewhat real. Asif Ali has once again delivered a watchable film.”
