Actress Revathy has penned a heartfelt note, mourning the demise of veteran actor and DMDK founder Vijayakanth. In a note shared on social media, Revathy reminisced about working with Vijayakanth in films ‘Vaidehi Kathiruntha’, ‘En Aasai Machan’, ‘Gandhi Pirantha Mann’, and ‘Chatriyan’ among others. Revathy shared that Vijayakanth was a great leader and a good co-star.

In her social media post, Revathy said, “#ripvijayakanth Vijayakanth, or Captain as he was fondly called by most truly had the right qualities of a leader. I have worked with him in #vaidehikathirundal #enaasaimachan #gandhipiranthaman and a role in #chatriyan. A man who wore his heart on his sleeve spoke what he felt, and was extremely protective of his co-actors and crew members in public.”
Her note further reads, “He steered Nadigam Sangam to its glory and created a oneness among Tamil actors. The star-studded shows for Nadigar Sangam was something only he could have pulled it off. He will be remembered for his movies and more for the generous person he was. May his soul rest in peace.”

Vijayakanth passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, after being admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for pneumonia. He was 71. His final rites took place on Friday, December 29.
