Roma opts out of Hotel California

Anoop Menon, Jayasurya-starrer, Hotel California, had generated a lot of buzz since the movie will see the hit pair teaming up once again after delivering two back-to-back hits, Beautiful and Trivandrum Lodge.
The news of actress Roma joining the duo���s camp had also made headlines. However, now we hear that the actress has opted out of the project as she was not too happy with her character.
���Firstly, I had not signed up for the movie. I had only agreed to do it when I was approached for the role,��� says Roma and adds that she was not given a complete script. ���Since I���m not a Malayali I listen to scripts read out to me by the scriptwriter or director before signing up any project. Hotel California is scripted by Anoop Menon, and it is his habit to improvise the script during the shoot on the set. So, during the process, the role that was offered to me turned out too negative for me to handle,��� says Roma.
Apparently, Anoop himself called her up and said that the character is, in fact, turning out to be too negative for a female to handle.
���I am not happy doing negative roles and I���m sure the Malayali audience won���t like to see me or any other actress doing such a role,��� says Roma and adds that she is not averse to doing a character with shades of grey. ���But I do not want to go overboard with a negative role,��� she says.
However, Aji John, the director of the movie maintains that, ���Roma opted out of the project only due to date clashes.��� Apart from Anoop and Jayasurya, the movie also stars Dhwani, Aparna Nair and Maria Roy in lead roles.
