Shine Tom to play a wannabe actor
Shine Tom Chacko seems to be the pick when it comes to playing humour-laced lead characters with a rough and tough look.
The latest such venture is BMW, directed by debutante Suryan Kunissery, in which Shine will be playing a wannabe actor. The film is scripted by Shani Khader.
The actor says, “As compared to the movies I have been in so far, the story background of this film is quite new for me.

My character aspires to be an actor, but the film isn’t a serious take on his struggles to achieve his aim, and takes the route of humor. It seems like a fun movie and I am looking forward to it.”
Director Suryan explains that the movie’s title expands to Big Movie War, and is connected to the comic plot of the film. “Shine and I have worked together as assistants to director Kamal and upon thinking about this story, I felt he would be apt to pull off the lead role. He plays Firoz, a youngster from Thalassery and his looks too are designed keeping in mind the cinema aspirants I have met from that side of the State. We are yet to finalise the rest of the cast.”
BMW is expected to start rolling by March next year and has Thalassery and Kochi as the main locations. Shine is currently doing Kinder Joyee and Third World Boys.
