Sijoy Varghese’s classy portrayal of racing coach Zacharia in Bangalore Days won him many admirers in the industry. The actor, who recently made inroads into Kollywood, is all set to play the character again for the Tamil version of the movie. It is directed by Tollywood director Bommarillu Bhaskar. An excited Sijoy says he is thankful to Anjali Menon and Anwar Rasheed for all the attention from Kollywood.
“The character has become a turning point in my life. In the film’s Tamil version, coach Zacharia’s portions are expanded and the movie is slightly action-oriented as well. He is a tad more aggressive this time. As I am also shooting for the Tamil movie Munnodi alongside, in which I play a cop, my character’s looks are not exactly as it was in the Malayalam film. The makers are trying to retain the essence of the original Bangalore Days while tweaking it to cater to the Tamil audience,” he says.
Arya plays Dulquer’s character in the Tamil version, and Sijoy says he is a joy to work with. “Arya’s character has been made a lot more heroic so that it suits Kollywood sensibilities. Being a Malayali himself, he is quite affable and comfortable around us. I have just begun working with him and is hoping to have a lot more fun on the set,” adds Sijoy. Parvathi and Sajid Yahiya will also play their respective roles in the Tamil version.
